Disappointment

"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."[a] 6 So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"[b] Hebrews 13:5-6

It is nice when there are so many disappointments in the world to know that we can rely on the Lord. A couple of years ago at a ball game, I overheard Judge Winters tell our coach that if you don't expect anything from anyone, you will not be disappointed. At the time, I remember looking at him and thinking how sad it would be to go through life looking at people that way. A couple of years and many disappointments later, I am starting to think that maybe he was right.

Disappointment will come for sure, but we just have to be strong, ask for guidance from the Lord, learn, and move on. It seems that your perspective of life does change as you get older.
